Purchase Terms
Order Acceptance
When you place an order through our website, you are submitting an offer to purchase, and your payment is processed by Shopify at the time you complete checkout. The order confirmation email you receive at checkout indicates we have received your order and your payment — it does not constitute final acceptance of the order by Basaltic Farms.
We reserve the right to review and decline orders before shipment for reasons including but not limited to product unavailability, suspected fraud, errors in product or pricing information, or violations of these terms. If we decline an order for any reason, we will issue a full refund to your original payment method. The order is considered final once we send you a shipping confirmation email.
Pricing and Payment
- All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. The price you pay is the price displayed at the time you complete your order.
- We use Shopify to process all payments and accept the payment methods Shopify supports (major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and similar).
- You are responsible for any applicable sales taxes or duties.
- In the event of a clear pricing or product description error on our website, we reserve the right to correct the error and either re-confirm the corrected order with you or cancel the order and issue a full refund.
Bulk and Wholesale Orders
Bulk discounts are applied automatically at checkout for orders within our standard tier ranges. Orders of 1,000 pounds or more require direct contact with our farm before placing the order; please email contact@basalticfarms.com to discuss pricing, scheduling, and shipping arrangements for orders at this scale.
Product Information & Availability
Natural Variation
Our garlic is a real agricultural product grown on a working farm, and natural variation is part of what makes it organic. Bulb size, clove count, color, papery wrapper appearance, and shelf life vary by variety, season, and growing conditions. Photos and descriptions on our website are representative of the variety, not guarantees of any individual bulb’s exact appearance. These natural variations are not considered defects.
Certification Status
Our seed garlic is triple-certified: CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers), USDA Organic, and Real Organic Project. Our freeze-dried garlic is CCOF-certified and made from our triple-certified seed garlic. Our garlic honey is uncertified by design — no federal organic standard exists for honey in the United States — but is produced on our certified organic farm.
Certifications confirm the practices used to grow and produce our products. They do not guarantee specific outcomes when our products are grown or used in conditions outside our control.
Availability
- Product availability is subject to our annual harvest yields and seasonal cycles. Some varieties may sell out before the end of the shipping season.
- We do not accept backorders. If a product is sold out after your order is placed but before it ships, we will notify you and issue a full refund.
- We reserve the right to substitute a comparable variety in a replacement order if the original variety is unavailable, and we will notify you before doing so.
- We do not guarantee crop performance once seed garlic has been planted. Many factors affect garlic growth — climate, soil, water, pest pressure, planting depth, timing, and storage between delivery and planting — none of which are within our control.
