Why these supplies
Built around our garlic
The growing kit is built around our own certified organic seed garlic, so the part that matters most comes straight from our fields, not a catalog.

Portioned for a backyard plot or a few raised beds, not a commercial operation, so you get what you need without buying in bulk.
OMRI-listed feed
The fish and seaweed fertilizer is OMRI Listed for organic use, a 2-3-1 blend: nitrogen for leaves, phosphorus for roots, potassium for sizing up bulbs, plus trace minerals and amino acids from the seaweed.
Good for first-timers
The kit comes with growing instructions and everything matched to work together, so a first-time grower can get a real crop in the ground.

Garden supply questions
The fish and seaweed fertilizer
What is the fish and seaweed fertilizer?
It is a liquid organic fertilizer blended from hydrolyzed fish and cold-water seaweed at a 2-3-1 ratio, and OMRI Listed for organic use. That balance suits garlic: nitrogen for leaves, phosphorus for roots, and potassium for sizing up bulbs.
Is it organic?
Yes. The fish and seaweed fertilizer is OMRI Listed for organic use, which means it meets the National Organic Program standards and is allowed in certified organic growing.
What does the 2-3-1 on the label mean?
Those are the three main nutrients in order: 2 parts nitrogen, 3 parts phosphorus, 1 part potassium. It is a gentle, balanced feed rather than a high-nitrogen push, which is what garlic wants.
Can I use it on plants other than garlic?
You can. It is a general-purpose feed, so it works on vegetables, herbs, and flowers as well as garlic. Follow the dilution on the label for whatever you are feeding.
What size does it come in?
It comes as a one-pint bottle. Choose it on the product page and add it to your cart.
Using the fertilizer
How do I use it?
For outdoor plants the label rate is about an eighth of a cup per gallon of water, watered in around the plants or sprayed on as a foliar feed. Shake the bottle well first, and only mix what you will use, since diluted fertilizer is not meant to be stored.
When should I feed my garlic?
Mainly during active spring growth, once the garlic is up and putting on leaves and starting to size up. That is when the plant uses the most nutrients. The label suggests feeding every two to three weeks through the growing season.
Will it burn my plants?
Used at the dilution on the label, a fish and seaweed feed is gentle and unlikely to burn. As with any fertilizer, do not over-apply; more is not better.
Does it smell?
Fish-based fertilizers do have a smell when you apply them, which fades as it dries and soaks in. For a lot of gardeners that is just the sign of real, natural ingredients at work.
Do I still need to feed if I have good soil?
Garlic is a hungry crop, especially as it sizes up bulbs in spring. Even decent soil benefits from a feed during that stretch, and a gentle liquid like this is an easy way to give it.
The garlic growing kit
What is the growing kit?
It is a starter set built around a half-pound of our own certified organic seed garlic, with what you need to plant and feed it plus growing instructions, so a beginner has everything in one place.
Is the seed garlic in the kit the same as what you sell?
Yes. The bulbs in the kit are the same certified organic seed garlic we grow and sell on its own. You are starting with real seed stock, not filler.
Is the kit good for beginners?
That is exactly who it is for. Everything is matched to work together and it comes with instructions, so you are not guessing about feed, timing, or how deep to plant.
Is it worth it for experienced growers?
If you already have seed garlic and a feed you like, you may not need the kit. It mainly saves a first-timer from sourcing everything separately.
Is the kit enough for a market garden?
It is sized for a home garden, a backyard plot or a few raised beds. For larger plantings, order seed garlic in bulk and feed separately. Our pricing page has the bulk tiers.
