Basic Garlic Planting Info
Garlic requires full sun and prefers well-draining nutrient rich soil. However, it is very adaptable to different growing conditions and performs well in sandy loam soils as well as dense clay soils with some amendments for drainage. It is one of the easier crops to grow requiring approximately 1″ of water per week. Soil should be moist at all times and not allowed to dry out more than a well wrung sponge and should not be allowed to become soggy and waterlogged for more than a day after watering.
