When you order by phone, you will receive an email confirmation after we have processed your order. Please open the attached sales receipt in that email to ensure everything is correct. No need to call us if everything looks correct.
Garlic Size:
The minimum order for any garlic variety is 1/2 lb, which may equal three to six bulbs, depending on the variety. We sell our garlic by weight and use certified scales. We try our best to get exact weights but be assured you will always receive a bit more. Our Garlic is shipped as whole bulbs. Most bulbs are 2” + inches in diameter.
However, if you order late in the season (especially after September 15), you may receive 1 3/4” bulbs. We suggest planting the largest seed/clove for the best results. All garlic will have smaller seeds in the center of the bulb. You can plant those, and they will grow, or you can simply eat them.
Garlic Pricing
In 2023, we integrated a smarter garlic shopping cart to calculate pricing for every item we sell. Put the more you order the less it will cost. The cart does the math.
Sales Tax:
When seed is shipped from California, it is exempt from sales tax. Under Regulation 1588. Seeds, Plants, and Fertilizer. Reference: Section 6358, Revenue and Taxation Code. So we do not collect any sales tax for seeds.
However, if you purchase a grow kit, fertilizer, or books, we must collect the tax. The only exceptions are a tax-exempt organization or a reseller with a current exemption certificate on file with Basaltic Farms Inc.
