All orders will be shipped in the order in which they were received beginning mid August.
All shipping dates are approximate. When ordering you will receive an email confirming your order was received and paid for. We typically begin shipping in the 2nd week of August. When your order ships you will receive your tracking number.
Shipping Information For Orders Placed:
Shipping costs have been rising steadily, and we must pass those costs on. Most packages we ship are by USPS. Larger orders usually ship via Fedex. Our software searches for the lowest cost and will ship the cheaper method unless you specify otherwise. If you prefer a more expensive option, we will ask for additional payment.
- If the actual cost of shipping is much less than paid for, we will refund accordingly.
- If the actual cost is much more than expected, we will contact you before shipment
- If an incorrect address is provided, we will ask for additional payment in order to re-ship your order.

When you order by phone, you will receive an email confirmation after we have processed your order. Please open the attached sales receipt and in that email to make sure everything is correct. No need to call us if everything looks correct.
The minimum order of any garlic varietal is 1/2 lb. This may be equal three to six bulbs depending on the variety. We sell our garlic by weight and use certified scales. We try our best to get exact weights but be assured you will always receive a bit more. Our Garlic is shipped as whole bulbs. Most bulbs are 2” + inches in diameter. However, if you order late in the season, (especially after September 15) you may receive 1 3/4” bulbs. We suggest planting the largest seed/clove for best results. All garlic will have smaller seeds in the center of the bulb. You can plant those and they will grow or you can simply just eat them.
In 2023 we integrated a smarter shopping cart which will calculate pricing for every item we sell. Simply put the more you order the less it will cost. The cart does the math.
Guarantees, Returns, and Refunds
You will not find pages of red tape and disclaimers here. We do guarantee that you will receive USDA Certified Organic Garlic grown in our fields and is in perfect condition. If your garlic arrives damaged by delivery carriers, Please call us immediately and take a picture of the damage. If damage is caused by delivery we will replace your order at no charge. If the garlic has hidden damage you must take a picture and let us know immediately. We will replace or refund the damage. Since garlic is wrapped in its own natural paper package it is impossible to detect hidden damage until its opened. We all have bought garlic at the store and later find out it has 3 or 4 seeds/cloves that might be discolored or moldy that no one wants. We stand behind our garlic and will refund or replace if any seeds are damaged. All garlic is perishable and you should plant it as soon as possible for best results.
When planting our garlic seed we cannot absolutely guarantee our seed will perform well for you. There are too many variables in soil preparation and care, time of planting, and climate. We do not recommend our garlic for extreme southern latitudes below approximately 32 degrees north latitude, such as southern Texas, and Hawaii.
However, if you are unhappy with your seed purchase, we will gladly refund your money on the simple condition you return it to us within 30 days of our shipment and before it is planted. We will not refund or replace after the seed has been planted- no exceptions. Our liability in such instances will be strictly limited to the cost of the seed plus the initial shipping charges. If a partial order is returned, partial shipping will be refunded. We assume no liability for freeze damage to garlic shipped after November 15th nor for any kind of damage after you plant the seed.
When seed is shipped from California it is exempt from sales tax. Under Regulation 1588. Seeds, Plants and Fertilizer. Reference: Section 6358, Revenue and Taxation Code. So we do not collect any sales tax for seeds.
However if you are purchasing a grow kit, fertilizer or books, we must collect the tax. The only exceptions are a tax-exempt organization or a reseller with a current exemption certificate on file with Basaltic Farms Inc.
We only use your information to complete a purchase transaction. We use your name and address to ship your order. We use your phone number to contact you if there is an issue with your order. We use your email address to communicate with you and let you know your order has been place and when your order has shipped. We will also use your email once a year to send our repeat customers about our annual discount on your next purchase. We never sell your information to anyone. We are constantly asked by Google and Microsoft to release your information to them so they can target you. We refuse to do so.
