All shipping dates are approximate. When ordering, you will receive an “Approximate Shipping Date.” We typically begin shipping in the last week of July. Our Music garlic matures later than other garlic varietals, and shipping for Music begins mid-September. You will receive your tracking number once it ships.
Shipping Information For Orders Placed:
Shipping costs have been rising steadily, and we must pass those costs on. Most packages we ship are by USPS. Larger orders usually ship via UPS. We compare costs and will ship the cheaper method unless you specify otherwise. If you prefer a more expensive option, we will ask for additional payment.
- If the actual cost of shipping is much less than paid for, we will refund accordingly.
- If the actual cost is much more than expected, we will contact you before shipment
- If an incorrect address is provided, we will ask for additional payment in order to re-ship your order.

After placing an order you will receive a confirmation email within 30 minutes or less. You will also receive an estimated shipping date in the email.
Basaltic Farms is a small family farm and we process all orders by hand and check for quality before shipping. We want you to be absolutely delighted with our Certified Organic Garlic.
First come, first served. We have limited quantities and can not sell more than 10 pounds per customer per order. So you can only order 10 pounds per day. In 2021 we will remove this restriction.
The minimum size bulb we will ship is at least 1.5 inches in diameter, most are 2 inches or more.

When you order by phone, you will receive an email confirmation after we have processed your order. Please open the attached sales receipt in that email to make sure everything is correct. No need to call us if everything looks correct.
The minimum order of any garlic varietal is 1/4 lb. This may equal one to three bulbs depending on the variety and when you order. We do place maximum limits on most strains to ensure that our customers can try the strain of their choice. However, we do run out of many varietals.
Garlic is shipped as whole bulbs. Most bulbs are 2” minimum diameter. However, if you order late in the season, (especially after August 1) you may receive 1 3/4” bulbs. Strains with large clove size will produce fine, healthy plants from 1 3/4” bulbs. And of course, they are wonderful to eat.

Guarantees, Returns, and Refunds
We do guarantee that you will receive USDA Certified Organic Garlic grown in our fields and is in perfect condition. If your garlic arrives damaged by delivery carriers, Please call us immediately and take a picture of the damage. If damage is caused by delivery we will replace your order at no charge. If the garlic has hidden damage you must take a picture and let us know immediately. We will replace or refund the damage. Since garlic is wrapped in its own natural paper package it is impossible to detect hidden damage until its opened. We all have bought garlic at the store and later find out it has 3 or 4 seeds/cloves that might be discolored or moldy that no one wants. We stand behind our garlic and will refund or replace if any seeds are damaged.
When planting our garlic seed we cannot absolutely guarantee our seed will perform well for you. There are too many variables in soil preparation and care, time of planting, and climate. We do not recommend our garlic for extreme southern latitudes below approximately 32 degrees north latitude, such as southern Texas, and Hawaii.
However, if you are unhappy with your seed purchase, we will gladly refund your money on the simple condition you return it to us within 60 days of our shipment and before it is planted. We will not refund or replace after the seed has been planted- no exceptions. Our liability in such instances will be strictly limited to the cost of the seed plus the initial shipping charges. If a partial order is returned, partial shipping will be refunded. We assume no liability for freeze damage to garlic shipped after November 15th nor for any kind of damage after you plant the seed.
Inc., and Newegg, Inc.) changed the state sales tax obligations for all companies that sell remotely through websites and catalogs. As a result of the new laws, Basaltic Farms Inc is now collecting and remitting sales tax in all states that require tax remittance.
The only exceptions are a tax-exempt organization or a reseller with a current exemption certificate on file with Basaltic Farms Inc.
