Rocambole Garlic is a hardneck variety of garlic known for its rich, complex flavor and easy-to-peel cloves. It thrives in well-drained, loamy soil with a pH level between 6.0 and 7.0. Planting should ideally occur in the fall, about 4-6 weeks before the first hard frost, with cloves spaced 4-6 inches apart and 2 inches deep. Rocambole garlic requires full sun exposure and moderate watering, avoiding waterlogged conditions.

It is also sensitive to excessive nitrogen in the soil, which can lead to softer bulbs. A layer of mulch can help regulate soil temperature and moisture.
